Mexico agrees to send more water to Texas, meeting treaty obligations and avoiding U.S. tariffs.
Mexico and the US have agreed on water sharing from the Rio Grande, with Mexico sending more water to Texas farmers to meet the 1944 treaty obligations.
The deal comes after President Trump threatened tariffs, and Mexico will transfer water from shared reservoirs and increase the US share from six Rio Grande tributaries.
The treaty, which requires Mexico to deliver 1.75 million acre-feet of water every five years, remains in effect.
