Liverpool City Council plans to combat trolley dumping by offering up to 500 subsidized personal trolleys to residents, especially pensioners and those without private transport. The council aims to reduce the 37,000 complaints about abandoned trolleys by selling these trolleys for $10 each. They will also fine retailers up to $1,320 for each dumped trolley found during a May blitz. Canterbury-Bankstown Council is using AI and cameras to identify and target areas with the most trolleys.
