Delhi court extends custody of Rana, linked to 2008 Mumbai attacks, for further interrogation by NIA.
A Delhi court has extended the custody of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, an accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, by 12 days at the request of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Rana, a Canadian businessman of Pakistani origin, was extradited from the U.S. in April.
The NIA stated that they need more time to interrogate Rana, who is a close associate of the main conspirator, David Coleman Headley.
The court has previously mandated daily health checks and allowed Rana to meet his lawyer every other day.
The 2008 attacks resulted in the deaths of 166 people.
