Veteran Henry Langrehr, who parachuted into Normandy on D-Day, has died at 100.
Henry Langrehr, a 100-year-old World War II veteran who parachuted into France on D-Day as part of the 82nd Airborne Division, has passed away.
Langrehr, who landed in Sainte-Mère-Église during the Normandy invasion in 1944, was wounded twice and escaped a Nazi prison camp.
He received two Purple Heart and two Bronze Star medals and was named a Knight of the Legion of Honor by France in 2007.
Langrehr chronicled his experiences in the book "Whatever It Took."
