Madhya Pradesh raises dearness allowance for 600,000 state employees to 55%, phased over two years.

Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, announced a 55% dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees, up from 50%. The increase will be phased, with a 3% raise effective July 1, 2024, and a further 2% on January 1, 2025. Arrears will be paid in five equal installments from June to October 2025. This benefits over 600,000 employees and aligns state benefits with central government standards.
