A Texas mother, Teresa Isabel Bernal, was arrested and charged with injury to a child after providing alcoholic Jell-O shots to her daughter's fifth-grade Christmas party at Jones Elementary School. Fifteen students consumed the shots, leading to stomach aches, headaches, and one child vomiting twice. Bernal claimed she was unaware the Jell-O shots contained alcohol, but testing confirmed their alcohol content. She was booked into jail and released on a $75,000 bond.
