A 19-year-old, Joseph Kling, has been charged with arson for allegedly starting a massive wildfire in New Jersey's Pine Barrens, burning over 15,000 acres. The fire began when Kling allegedly left a bonfire of wooden pallets unattended. It destroyed at least one commercial building, caused power outages for 25,000 customers, and forced evacuations before being lifted. Despite early spring rains, the region was still in peak fire season due to low humidity and dry conditions.
