Statue of Amelia Earhart stolen from a park in Newfoundland; mayor offers reward for its return.

A life-sized statue of Amelia Earhart, honoring her 1932 solo transatlantic flight, has been stolen from a park in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland. Surveillance footage shows two people arriving in a red SUV and leaving nearly three hours later. This theft follows the recent theft of two plaques marking Earhart's flight anniversary. Mayor Don Coombs is working with police and plans to offer a reward for the statue's return.
