A person was struck and killed by a train near Ely, causing service disruptions and rerouting.

On April 24, a person was hit and killed by a train near Ely, blocking rail services between Ely and King's Lynn. Great Northern advised passengers to check journey updates on the National Rail website or their app. Services were suspended until around 5 p.m., with rail replacement buses requested by 2:30 p.m. Passengers were advised to allow extra travel time. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
