Indigenous group in BC appeals to UN for funds to address disproportionate drug-related deaths.

Members of the Tsilhqot'in Nation in British Columbia are at the UN urging the Canadian and B.C. governments for funding to fund the toxic drug crisis. The crisis has caused a death rate among Indigenous people six times higher than for other residents. They seek culturally centered treatments, including on-the-land processes and equine therapy, along with improved access to recovery services and supportive housing.
