Syracuse implements warning phase for new school bus stop-arm camera program to enhance student safety.
Syracuse, New York, is starting a 30-day warning period for its new school bus stop-arm camera program on April 21, aimed at enhancing student safety. The program, in partnership with the Syracuse Police Department and the Syracuse City School District, will see violators receive warnings initially and fines starting from $250 after May 21. Philadelphia is also piloting a similar camera program on 20 school buses to catch illegal passing, but it will not issue fines during its pilot phase.
