India's oilmeals exports dropped 11% in the 2024-25 fiscal year to 43.42 lakh tonnes, with the FOB value falling 21% to Rs 12,171 crore. This decline is mainly due to decreased exports of rapeseed and castorseed meals. Despite political instability, Bangladesh remained the top importer, followed by South Korea and Thailand, though all saw a decrease in imports compared to the previous year. The Solvent Extractors' Association of India noted potential opportunities in re-entering the Chinese market and lifting the ban on DORB exports.
