A man's claim of owning a $6.5 million imported dog was debunked by Indian authorities, revealing it as a publicity stunt.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigated a Bengaluru man who claimed to have imported a dog worth Rs 50 crore, after the claim went viral on social media.
Upon investigation, the ED found the claim to be false; the dog was actually owned by the man's neighbor and valued at less than Rs 1 lakh.
There was no evidence of any foreign transactions or violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), suggesting the claim was a publicity stunt.
