KISS announces reunion tour with original members, marking a major comeback in rock music.
On April 16, 1996, KISS announced a reunion tour with original members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss at a press conference aboard the USS Intrepid in New York City.
The tickets sold out in 47 minutes, and the "Alive/Worldwide" tour, starting in Detroit on June 28, 1996, concluded on July 5, 1997, with 192 shows and $43.6 million in revenue.
KISS released "Psycho Circus" in 1998 and went on a farewell tour in 2000.
Despite changes, founding members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons continued touring, concluding their final tour in December 2023, but they recently announced an upcoming "unmasked" show in Las Vegas.
