Irish government allocates over €780,000 to protect heritage sites in Wexford, Mayo, Cavan, and Monaghan.
The Irish government has announced over €430,000 in funding through the 2025 Community Monuments Fund to protect archaeological sites in Wexford, and over €159,000 for projects in Mayo, including €100,000 for the Augustinian Abbey in Ballina.
The fund aims to preserve, maintain, and promote local heritage sites and protect them from climate change.
Additionally, nearly €200,000 was awarded for heritage projects in Cavan and Monaghan counties.
