The Australian government is investing $128 million to upgrade roads between the Port of Newcastle and the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone, starting within weeks. Funded by federal and state governments, the project will improve transportation of large equipment for renewable energy projects, creating 60 construction jobs. BMD Constructions Pty Ltd will lead the 19-site upgrade, aiming to reduce delays and improve road safety. The Central-West Orana REZ is expected to begin construction within months, aiming to deliver 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity by 2028.
