India's vehicle sales reach record 4.3 million units, with utility vehicles leading the growth.

India's passenger vehicle sales hit a record 4.3 million units in fiscal year 2024-25, marking a 2% increase from the previous year. Utility vehicles, which now account for 65% of sales, were the key growth driver. Exports also rose by 14.6% to 0.77 million units. In the Philippines, vehicle sales increased by 6.8% in Q1 2025, driven by a 13.9% rise in commercial vehicle sales, offsetting a 13.7% decline in passenger car sales. Electric and hybrid vehicles made up 5.73% of total sales.
