Bengaluru's municipal body, BBMP, has seen a 25% increase in property tax collections for fiscal year 2024-25, totaling ₹4,930 crore, and plans to exceed ₹6,000 crore in the next fiscal year. BBMP aims to alleviate public concerns by proposing reduced parking tax rates for residential and commercial properties, with rates set at Rs 2 and Rs 3 per square foot, respectively. This move follows enforcement measures like the One-Time Settlement Scheme and targeting long-standing defaulters.
