Indian authorities move to seize $84M assets linked to Gandhi-controlled newspaper company.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in India has issued notices to seize assets worth Rs 661 crore linked to the National Herald newspaper and Associated Journals Limited (AJL), controlled by Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
The assets include properties in Delhi, Mumbai, and Lucknow.
The ED investigation accuses Young Indian, a company beneficially owned by the Gandhis, of undervaluing AJL properties worth Rs 2,000 crore for Rs 50 lakh.
The legal process, initiated in 2021, has been upheld by the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court.
Congress leaders have accused the ED of political vendetta.
