Former England cricket star James Anderson has been awarded a knighthood for his record-breaking career, in which he took 704 Test wickets, the most by any fast bowler.
Anderson, who retired last summer, is joined by several Tory politicians on the resignation honours list, including Michael Gove, who received a seat in the House of Lords, and fellow politicians Jeremy Hunt, James Cleverly, and Grant Shapps, who were awarded knighthoods.
Filmmaker Matthew Vaughn was also knighted for his contributions to the creative industries.
