China's NEV production and sales surge by nearly 50% in Q1 2025, dominating 41.2% of auto sales.

In the first quarter of 2025, China's new energy vehicle (NEV) production and sales saw a significant increase, up 50.4% and 47.1% year-on-year, respectively, reaching 3.18 million units produced and 3.08 million units sold. NEVs now account for 41.2% of total vehicle sales. Overall auto production and sales also grew by 14.5% and 11.2%, respectively, with NEV exports surging 43.9% to 441,000 units.
