Suspended Singapore officer convicted in 2016 abuse and cover-up of Myanmar maid Piang Ngaih Don.

Kevin Chelvam, a suspended Singapore police officer, has been convicted of four charges for his role in the abuse and cover-up of Piang Ngaih Don, a Myanmar maid who died in 2016. Chelvam's ex-wife and her mother are already serving 30 and 17 years in jail, respectively, for starving and abusing Don. Chelvam, convicted of abetting his ex-wife, hurting Don by her hair, and tampering with evidence, will be sentenced on July 17.
