Manitoba will invest $5 million towards the Downtown YMCA-YWCA's $18 million fundraising campaign to revitalize its facilities in Winnipeg. The funds will create new child-care spaces, classrooms for mental health and newcomer programs, and areas for community engagement, such as an indoor splash pad. Premier Wab Kinew highlighted the Downtown Y's importance as a century-old community hub.
