Former San Jose City Councilman Omar Torres pleads no contest to abusing a child over nine years.

Former San Jose City Councilman Omar Torres pleaded no contest to multiple charges of sexually abusing a child, including sodomy and oral copulation by force. The abuse occurred between 1990 and 1999, starting when the victim was 4 years old. Torres, 43, will face sentencing on April 28 and could go to prison, as well as be required to register as a sex offender for life.
