A BC lawyer's misconduct case is reheard to include previously dismissed mental health evidence.
A British Columbia lawyer, Bijan Ahmadian, is facing a new hearing after the B.C. Court of Appeal ruled that his family doctors' mental health evidence was wrongly dismissed. Initially accused of eight misconduct instances, including borrowing client funds, Ahmadian argued his mental health struggles affected his judgment. The court established that mental health evidence should be considered in misconduct cases. The new hearing will review seven of the eight allegations and five additional counts.
