Health and Human Services plans to reinstate some of the 20,000 employees recently laid off.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that some of the 10,000 employees dismissed as part of a restructuring plan to save $1.8 billion annually will be reinstated.
The plan, announced on March 27, aimed to reduce the workforce from 82,000 to 62,000 full-time employees, also reducing divisions from 28 to 15 and centralizing core functions.
Kennedy stated that some mistakenly cut programs and personnel will be rehired.
