New Zealand's Tourism and Hospitality Minister, Louise Upston, has announced a $2.45 million fund to support regional tourism events, aiming to boost economic growth and draw more visitors to less frequented areas.
The funding, part of the Regional Events Promotion Fund, is open for applications with decisions expected in May for events from July 2025 to June 2026.
This initiative supports the tourism sector, which contributes nearly $38 billion to the economy and supports almost 200,000 jobs.
