Luke Samouel Simon, 57, was sentenced to 31 years in prison for the murder of his future son-in-law, Damien Conlon, 38, on February 9, 2023. The murder in Oberon, NSW, stemmed from a property dispute over a granny flat. Simon lured Conlon to his home under false pretenses, shot him multiple times, and pleaded guilty in August 2024. The non-parole period is 22 years, starting on the date of the murder, with an additional nine years beginning in 2045.
