Greencore is set to buy Bakkavor for £1.2 billion, creating a £4 billion food-to-go giant.

Food-to-go company Greencore is set to acquire rival Bakkavor in a deal valued at £1.2 billion, creating a combined business with annual revenues of about £4 billion. Under the proposed cash-and-shares offer, Greencore shareholders would own around 56% of the new entity, while Bakkavor shareholders would hold 44%. The deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, could create a food-to-go giant supplying major UK supermarkets and employing around 31,300 staff globally.
