Spain's Mogán reinstates tourist tax of €0.15 per person per day despite local business protests.
The Spanish town of Mogán on Gran Canaria has reinstated a tourist tax of €0.15 per person per day, after a temporary suspension was lifted by the local Supreme Court.
This tax, aimed at funding local services and infrastructure, applies to tourists over 16 staying in hotels or holiday homes.
Despite protests from local hospitality businesses who fear it could harm tourism, the court ruled the tax can remain in effect pending a final decision.
