Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar suspended 80 games for using banned drug hCG.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar has been suspended for 80 games without pay after testing positive for Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG), a banned performance-enhancing drug.
Profar, who signed a three-year, $42 million contract with the Braves in January, expressed remorse and said he would never knowingly take a banned substance.
This is the fourth suspension this year for violating MLB's performance-enhancing substance policy.
Profar will be ineligible for the postseason.
