Nigeria's government has recovered significant funds from oil companies, with the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee recovering an additional $14.2 million from four firms, bringing the total to $33.44 million.
The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) has also recovered $4.85 billion out of $8.26 billion owed by oil companies, though $6.175 billion in liabilities remain, which could cover 72% of Nigeria's 2025 budget deficit.
