A baby North American tree porcupine, or "porcupette," has been born at Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire, UK. The offspring of first-time parents Fennel and Mango, porcupettes are born with soft quills that harden within hours, and start eating vegetables at two weeks old, fully weaned by three months. This birth is one of only three North American tree porcupines born in the UK in the last year. Visitors can see the porcupines during Mother's Day Weekend and Easter holidays.
