South Africa launches anti-corruption forum to combat fraud at borders, dismissing 27 officials.

South Africa's Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber launched the Border Management and Immigration Anti-Corruption Forum to fight corruption at the country's borders. Since July 2024, 27 officials have been dismissed for fraud, corruption, and sexual misconduct, with eight already convicted. The forum, involving multiple agencies, aims to automate border controls and replace paper documents with digital ones to curb corruption and strengthen border security.
