A scrapyard fire in Phoenix on Tuesday morning led to the closure of Broadway Road between 19th and 27th avenues. The fire, which began around 11:30 a.m., was extinguished without any reported injuries. It started in a large machine used for crushing vehicles and sent black smoke over central Phoenix. The road has since reopened, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
