RCMP officers cleared of using excessive force in arrest that broke woman's arm.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. found that Nanaimo RCMP officers did not use excessive force when a woman's arm was broken during her arrest for causing a disturbance last fall. The woman was heavily intoxicated and resisting officers' attempts to search her. The watchdog concluded that the force used was necessary and lawful, with no evidence of unreasonable force causing the injury.
