Mel Gibson's sequel to "The Passion of the Christ," titled "The Resurrection of the Christ," is set to begin filming in Rome in August 2025. The movie, which will explore the three days following Jesus' crucifixion, will be filmed in Rome and various southern Italian towns. Jim Caviezel, Maia Morgenstern, and Francesco De Vito are expected to reprise their roles. The original film, released in 2004, was a box office success but faced controversy over alleged antisemitism.
