Matthew Brown, 30, died after an encounter with state police in Barneveld, NY; investigation underway.

Matthew A. Brown, a 30-year-old man from Barneveld, New York, died on March 24 after an encounter with state police. Troopers responded to a report of erratic behavior and, after Brown lunged for a holstered firearm, restrained and handcuffed him. He later became unresponsive while waiting for medical help, and life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. The New York State Attorney General's Office is investigating.
