Man sentenced to community service for abusing dog, Bubby, who suffered a fractured bone.

A man from Rotorua, New Zealand, was sentenced to 50 hours of community work and six months of supervision for severely abusing his dog, Bubby, in January 2024. Bubby suffered a fractured bone due to the abuse, and the man was also ordered to pay $2,950.30 in reparations and is banned from owning dogs for five years. The SPCA prosecuted the man under the Animal Welfare Act 1999 and urges the public to report animal cruelty.
