Man breaches New Zealand police station, negotiates for hours before arrest; road reopened.

A man breached the Murupara Police Station in New Zealand by smashing the front door and was arrested after a negotiation lasting several hours. Police cordoned off Pine Drive between Oregon Drive and Main Road during the incident. An axe, machete, and chainsaw were found in his vehicle. The police thanked the community for their cooperation and confirmed there was no risk to public safety. The road has since been reopened.
