Iowa House Republicans passed two election reform bills aimed at tightening voter registration and altering recount procedures. House File 928 changes the recount process, giving more power to the County Auditor and the Secretary of State. House File 954 expands the Secretary of State’s role in confirming voter eligibility and bans ranked choice voting. Both bills will now go to the Iowa Senate for further consideration.
