India unveils its first homegrown MRI machine, aiming to cut healthcare costs and boost self-reliance.

India has developed its first indigenous MRI machine, set to be installed at AIIMS in Delhi for trials by October. This aims to reduce treatment costs and decrease reliance on imported medical devices, as 80-85% of current equipment is imported. The project, supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, is part of India's efforts to become more self-reliant in medical technology.
