Eric Lamarr Mathis, 24, was arrested for the murder of Edward Daquan Smith, 23, after a shooting at a party in far east El Paso on February 28. The incident occurred when a large gathering escalated into a violent altercation. Mathis was taken into custody at Fort Bliss and booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $1.5 million bond.
