A secretive Chinese network of companies is reportedly recruiting recently laid-off U.S. government workers, according to research by Reuters and analyst Max Lesser. The companies, such as RiverMerge Strategies and Wavemax Innovation, share overlapping websites and server hosting. They are targeting former federal employees, potentially to gain sensitive information. The Chinese Embassy denies any connection, but the FBI warns of Chinese intelligence using similar tactics.
