The legislation passed on March 25 amid concerns over declining oxygen levels in Macquarie Harbour. Tasmanian Greens Senator Peter Whish-Wilson also confronted the Prime Minister, expressing long-held frustration over the issue. Despite the controversy, major supermarkets Woolworths and Coles continue to sell salmon from the area.
