Assam journalist Dilwar Hussain Mozumder was arrested while covering a protest over financial irregularities at the Assam Cooperative Apex Bank. He was charged with criminal intimidation and violating the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. His arrest sparked protests from media organizations and opposition parties who claim it is an attack on press freedom. Mozumder was later granted bail.
