World Athletics has approved using cheek swabs to determine if athletes are biologically female, aiming to protect the integrity of the female category in sports. The test will check for the SRY gene and testosterone levels, with the goal of ensuring fairness. World Athletics hopes to implement this before the World Championships in Tokyo this September.
