Volkswagen unveils new hybrid system for T-Roc, aiming to capitalize on surging hybrid sales.

Volkswagen plans to introduce a new hybrid system in its models, starting with the new Volkswagen T-Roc, to be revealed at the Munich motor show in September. The hybrid system, which pairs a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, will offer outputs from 150kW to 200kW. Volkswagen is investing €60 billion in combustion engine development by 2028. The move comes as hybrid vehicle sales surged by 76% last year, outpacing electric vehicle growth.
