Sharon McDonough, with 34 years of experience, becomes Tucson's first female fire chief.

Sharon McDonough has been appointed as the new interim fire chief of the Tucson Fire Department, succeeding retiring Chief Chuck Ryan. McDonough, who has 34 years of experience and previously directed the Public Safety Communications Department, will officially take over on June 2nd. She is the first woman to serve as fire chief in Tucson and has received praise for her leadership capabilities.
