Rep. Elise Stefanik is expected to resign her seat in New York's 21st Congressional District after her confirmation as U.S. Ambassador to the UN on April 2. State Sen. Dan Stec has received the Conservative Party's backing as a Republican candidate, with other contenders including Liz Joy and Chris Tague. The Democratic candidate, Blake Gendebien, has raised over $2 million. Governor Hochul will call for a special election likely in early July.
